For Leerpark Dordrecht, an ambitious development where learning and working is combined, a range of different feasibility studies have been made. By clustering schools and commercial activities, interaction is stimulated between students, businesses and residents, making the whole greater than the sum of its parts. The feasibility studies have been made for location at the head of the Leerpark Dordrecht, thus marking the entrance to the area. The location exists of three plots, allowing different and individual appearances, and together forming an urban ensemble.
The buildings combine office space and business areas. The business premises are on the ground floor and have access to the street. At level above roof gardens are situated. The entrance of the upper offices is on the first floor, which gives them maximum visibility from the nearby highway, and allowing them to look onto attractive roof gardens.
The buildings have flexible floor plans, allowing them to split up into smaller units and exchange with the learning school program as much possible. Within the assignment an optimum between program, flexibility, and identity is achieved, in order to stimulate the desired synergy. Within the feasibility studies different combinations of the program have been examined.
